The Wildman Rocketry Blackhawk 29 is a pretty sweet minimum diameter,
practically indestructible carbon fiber rocket under $100. It will fly on
an E through I, though anything in the H-I range is going to need good eyes
and may result in a long walk.
Wildman's Eagle Claw Mini (similar in looks to a small Giant Leap Talon) is
another under $100, 29mm full-fiberglass rocket that will fly on a big F
through I. A small H (for cert) is about 3500'.
With luck, and very calm winds, I will have my Blackhawk 29 prepped to fly
on an I-224 in October, with a predicted max speed of Mach 1.3.

> Several glowing reviews here:
> Great info and purchase link here:
> NOTE: This is a 29mm motor mount rocket, meaning this is a solid G

> very popular mod is to swap out the motor mount and centering rings with
> 38mm components to make this rocket a real screamer.. able to take H and

> this before if you never have. There are some trade offs and considerations)
> Another great mid+high power performer is the LOC Precision Minnie-Mag:
> This one is great because it is a 38mm ready to go, plus it's over 5" in
> diameter which means it has slow, dramatic liftoffs that won't punch a hole
> in the stratosphere (i.e. you'll likely get it back and get your
> certification with ease ;)
> Another ready to go 38mm G/H/I motor rocket is the Patriot Missile by Mad
> A really popular rocket with the scale missile lovers. :)
