Great info.. thanks Adrien!

Yeah.. I don't ever plan on doing the really slick, post-production data overlay stuff. Yours looks super nice.. and I think (like my paint jobs), I just don't have the patience..

Instead, I've kind of been looking at some of the drone cams that have OSD inputs that one can use a RPi or even arduino to pump real time flight data and GPS data into the recorded video.. sort of like what some of the drone folks are doing:

(though yours is much prettier ;)

Mine is a 120 degree; I'd kind of like to get a 70 degree to see how it does, because, in general, I prefer a narrower FoV.So, in my experience, the issues with the 808 cameras:

All the different models/types/generations can be confusing and problematic. Make sure you order a "good" one
Even if you order a "good" model number, hope/pray/sacrifice chickens/burn incense/cross fingers that it's legit and not counterfeit
Even with all of the above, it still might not fit in your housing, and/or you may have other odd experiences with it
As should probably be expected with electronics of Chinese origin, the documentation can be an adventure
(Lots of good info at [ http://www.chucklohr.com/808/index.shtml ]( http://www.chucklohr.com/808/index.shtml ))
I paid about $40 for mine, from Amazon. Officially, it's a #16, which is one of the "good" ones (same type you linked above, but I think mine was a different "brand". Maybe not one of the "good" ones after all...)
Overall, I really dig it, but it has some quirks. Fortunately, the first time I flew it, the stars aligned and everything was perfect. That was followed by a string of flights with failed video. More recently, I've encountered audio weirdness around the point where it switches between files (make sure you pick "2GB files" over "3 minutes", because you'll get fewer files and, thus, fewer gaps). And I'm still trying to figure out a way to get a wind screen on the microphone, because the wind noise is brutal.
If something happens to this camera, or if I get sick enough of it, I'll probably go with a Mobius to replace it. Although I still want to figure out a way to mount my GoPro Hero Session ...
Of course, once you start getting video, then you get into video editing software, and data overlay software, and it becomes another rabbit hole.
Or maybe that's just me. :)

Hey guys..

On the 808 keychain cameras.. you guys prefer the 70 degree (drone style) lenses or the 120 degree (fish eye) lenses?

Also.. with all the shoddy 808 reviews.. I'm also thinking about spending a little more and getting a Mobius:

Thoughts?
