Just passing this over from Chuck @VAST.

They're doing another launch on Aug 8th. That might be better for some of our folks who didn't get to go t othe last one. Again.. the have a roughly 2500ft "okay without dual/jully deploy".. Also.. Chuck likes to get an guest flyer RSVP signup so he knows what people are bringing and flying (kind of like our pre-flight data capture requirement). So if you plan to go.. expect to gill out his form.

To RSVP.. Contact Chuck at [ vastinfo at valleyaerospace.com ]( mailto:vastinfo at valleyaerospace.com ).

Some NRVR History:
VAST and NRVR are kind of "sister clubs". Chuck has been in the hobby for many yearse.. and actually helped NRVR get started back in 2011 before we had a waiver (we flew on his!) or before Bob became Prefect. Heck.. his L3 AV bay is actually documented in the High Power2 Bible:

Thanks Chuck for helping us get off the ground. :)

Here's some photos of our first years of launches:

NRVR Members,
Since some of you attended our July launch, I thought that I would go ahead and post an invitation to attend our August event. The details are as follows:
VAST will be holding a Sport Launch on Saturday, August 8th, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM at our Jack Mountain Village launch site near Monterey, Virginia. Please note that the range will be closing earlier on Saturday than the July launch due to an offsite membership meeting that evening. Sunday, August 9th will be a Tripoli Research launch with range hours of 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Anyone wanting to attend both days is welcome to camp at the site.

This will of course be weather permitting with the final GO/NO-GO decision being made the Friday evening before by 8:00 PM. Check the launch status on VAST’s website before leaving for the site (if the Green GO button is shown, the launch is on).

Unfortunately the hay was not cut in July so I have my doubts that it will be cut in August. Even if it is cut, there will still be the usual areas of tall grass, shrubs, briars, and marshy ground (not to mention the trees surrounding the site)!

As with the June and July launches, we will be following whatever COVID-19 requirements are in place at that time. If anyone is ill or displaying any symptoms, considered at-risk, or simply has concerns with being around others, you should not attend. If something changes that hinders our ability to hold the launch, I will let everyone know as soon as I know.
If you would like to attend or have any questions or comments, please contact me offline directly at [ vastinfo at valleyaerospace.com ]( mailto:vastinfo at valleyaerospace.com ). Please do not attend without contacting me so I can get a headcount as well as send you some additional information.
Hope to see some of you at our field!

Thanks!
Chuck Neff
