Just a quick update on March launches.. the small VT student launch THIS weekend is canceled (Bob had some stuff come up). If you have something planned with Bob... stay in contact with him.. but I've pulled it off the NRVR calendar.. so all we have going on this month now is the:
-nothing until:
Saturday 3/21 - NRVR Club launch (need club helpers)
Saturday 3/28 - Large VT Student Cert Launch (>90 student L1 cert flights)
As always... track all this on the main, NRVR web site. We always keep that current:

(subscribe to it on your device to make sure you're always up to date!)

Hey all..
The launch calendar is a bit confusing this month, so we wanted to get word out on it ahead of time.
We have THREE TRA research launches coming up here in the next few weeks. Two student launches and one club launch:
Sunday 3/15 - Small Student Cert launch (see Bob & calendar)
Saturday 3/21 - NRVR Club launch (need club helpers)
Saturday 3/28 - Large VT Student Cert Launch (>90 student L1 cert flights)
Launch Details here: [ http://nrvr.org/calendar/ ]( http://nrvr.org/calendar/ )
(Bob.. let me know if you want to change any of the launch details or times)
The two student launches are mainly to help certain student groups get some HP experience under their wings and attempt their L1 certification flight before touching the larger, much more dangerous rockets they hope to work on and fly at various student competitions.
1) The first March launch is a Small TRA run Student launch (on Sun 3/15) and we're only going to have a couple of pads set up for 2-3 expected flyers. Students: Please do not plan on coming out en masse on this day, as there will not be the support infrastructure or people to support this. If you want to come to fly or help out, email Bob at [ officers(at)nrvr.org ]( mailto:officers at nrvr.org ) for approval.
2) The second March launch is our regular, tons-o-fun, monthly, NRVR Club launch (moved from the 28th to the 21st). As usual, we need club helpers for 9am setup, and certified helpers to assist with RSO, LCO, and pad managers duties to help things go smothly and safely. I think we have some kind of STEM student group visiting and wanting to fly, so we might have to run parallel HP and Low Power RSOs and Launch Controls. Who knows. Speak up if you can lend a hand! :)
3) The final March launch is reserved as a large scale (~120), student L1 certification event, and we humbly ask that as many NRVR volunteers as possible come out and help these VT students get their certifications. Since many of these students are first time flyers, this may be their first HP rocket, and may have little to no real experience with HP construction best practices, so we will really need a number of experienced HP folks to assist with this. We need multiple L2 RSOs, a couple of "Rocket Doctor" Triage&repair folks, as well certificated LCOs and pad managers on hand to to keep the max expected head count of ~120 students safely moving through the queues. This is still a TRA-run event, and we need NRVR helpers to keep things safe and secure. Please pipe up or email [ officers(at)nrvr.org ]( mailto:officers at nrvr.org ) if you are a certified flyer and can lend a hand.
Please spread the word... Before you can show up and fly your rocket with us, you must first sim your rocket design (recommended in either [ RockSim ]( https://www.apogeerockets.com/RockSim/Rocksim-Registration ) or [ OpenRocket ]( http://openrocket.info/ )) and request approval to fly by filling out and submitting this Pre-Flight Data Capture Form at least 24hrs before the launch:
[ http://server2.nrvr.org/files/TRA_Pre-Flight_Data_Capture_Form.pdf ]( http://server2.nrvr.org/files/TRA_Pre-Flight_Data_Capture_Form.pdf )
Any questions or comments, please email [ officers(at)nrvr.org ]( mailto:officers at nrvr.org ) .
