NRV Rocketry, Tripoli High Power, Research Launch (TRL), one dayThis
is a TRA insured, high power, research launch.. that allows
both stock-commercial/certified as well as uncertified/resarch low and high
power motors.Setup begins at 9am and we start flying by 10:30, weather
permitting. Our site FAA waiver is 10,000 ft AGL, but for safety our
ceiling is limited to 5,000ft AGL, we have a max motor total impulse of L,
and max rocket-on-pad weight of 30lbs. All high power flights will
be reviewed and must be approved by by RSO(at)nrvr.org.As per
Virginia Tech (the land owner) policy:is intended for University Students
and NRVR members/supporters onlyAs per updates to VT
policy "masks are not required in outdoor settings at this time"NOTE:
All New Flyers, Student flights and certification attempts must
submit a Pre-Flight

Launch (see TRL)We have all sizes launch rods and rails from 1010, up
through 1515/Unirail (advance request for 1515 and UniRail please)NEW

weight (on the pad) of 30lbsFor L motor flights, or flights over 3,000 ft

- Medium-High Power Pre-Launch Approval Form:For Medium through High
Power Flyers (F and larger motors), special RSO approval
documentation is required if you meet any of the following
conditions: are a non-NRVR-member, or are a new or a student flyer
flying F - high powerplan on doing a cert flight,plan on flying on
an L motor,are flying anything with a projected apogee over 3k
ft (AGL) altitude,are flying a research or modified (non-stock) motor,
a complex multi-stage/cluster, orare using exotic recovery or custom build
materials (e.g. 3D printing, "weird rockets", etc) or the RSO or other
officer requests more pre-flight dataIf you match any of the above criteria
please fill out this pre-flight data capture review form and send
to officers(at)nrvr.org before launch day for a pre-launch
document review & flight approval. If you meet any of these criteria
and fail to send this info ahead of launch day, you may experience launch
delays, be required to have a more in depth tear down or multi-RSO
inspection, or be disallowed from flying your project at our launch.Please
