So, in my experience, the issues with the 808 cameras:
<div>
<ul>
<li>All the different models/types/generations can be confusing and problematic.&nbsp; Make sure you order a &quot;good&quot; one
</li><li>Even if you order a &quot;good&quot; model number, hope/pray/sacrifice chickens/burn incense/cross fingers that it's legit and not counterfeit&nbsp;
</li><li>Even with all of the above, it still might not fit in your housing, and/or you may have other odd experiences with it
</li><li>As should probably be expected with electronics of Chinese origin, the documentation can be an adventure
</li></ul>
</div>
<div>(Lots of good info at&nbsp;<a href="http://www.chucklohr.com/808/index.shtml" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer" id="LPlnk23050" class="OWAAutoLink" previewremoved="true">http://www.chucklohr.com/808/index.shtml</a>)</div>
<div>I paid about $40 for mine, from Amazon.&nbsp; Officially, it's a #16, which is one of the &quot;good&quot; ones (same type you linked above, but I think mine was a different &quot;brand&quot;.&nbsp; Maybe not one of the &quot;good&quot; ones after all...)&nbsp;&nbsp;</div>
<div>Overall, I really dig it, but it has some quirks.&nbsp; Fortunately, the first time I flew it, the stars aligned and everything was perfect.&nbsp; That was followed by a string of flights with failed video.&nbsp; More recently, I've encountered audio weirdness around
 the point where it switches between files (make sure you pick &quot;2GB files&quot; over &quot;3 minutes&quot;, because you'll get fewer files and, thus, fewer gaps).&nbsp; And I'm still trying to figure out a way to get a wind screen on the microphone, because the wind noise is brutal.</div>
<div>If something happens to this camera, or if I get sick enough of it, I'll probably go with a Mobius to replace it.&nbsp; Although I still want to figure out a way to mount my GoPro Hero Session ...</div>
<div>Of course, once you start getting video, then you get into video editing software, and data overlay software, and it becomes another rabbit hole.</div>
<div>Or maybe that's just me.&nbsp; :)</div>
