announcements for September launch

Hi all,

There is a lot to cover since I have been deep into job hunt mode I've let
some important NRVR stuff slide a little. I may send out several emails or
cover a bunch of things in this one email. I'll just surprise you (and me).

We had another great launch in July with several new folks joining us for
the first time and some NRVR members coming back for the first time in a
while. Randolph Walker and Barry Bedwell and his sons came out to the
launch from Roanoke:

It's great to have new people show up with classic
kits and plenty of motors. We had a great time watching your flights and
hope you come out again. Jimmy Desposito's work schedule has kept him busy
but he joined us again in July. All his rockets were recovered...on the
field! I'll skip the writing part and just let you know that I've attached
the stats from our July launch. [stripped for mail list]

Today I went to the Central United Methodist church in Radford to talk
about rockets with Joe Caldwell and his cub scout pack. There are some
great kids that are very excited to come out to our August launch and fly
rockets that they are building. Let help them out and make them feel
welcome!

Our next launch is Saturday, August 30. We will start set up at 9:00 and
should be ready to fly from 10:00 to 6:00. We probably won't have a
port-a-potty in August and my sincere apologies in advance. We are saving
our limited funds to make sure we have one for the September launch.

While we are still working out the publicity and other details with
Kentland Farms, I want to let everyone know that due to the multi-year
effort by Tweeks, we are honored to have the original rocket boy from
Coalwood WV sand VT grad, **Homer Hickam** join us on Saturday, September 27.
This will be a grand 2 day launch with sponsorship by Rackspace with free
food and drinks. Tell your friends if they are interested but DO NOT make
any public announcements or shoot emails out to everyone in your email
list. We have to honor the wishes of our land owners or risk losing our
excellent launch site. More details will be available in the coming weeks,
but for now put this on your calendar.

Look forward to seeing you at a launch soon.

Bob
