[NRV Rocketry] Tips for High Quality Paint Jobs? (on rockets)

Hey all..

What's your favorite pain-job tip? Getting a nice paint job has always been my
weakest skill in rocketry.. so I often end up with just leaving a primer layer
on (for too long), or have even been known to leave it raw cardboard and
scrawl sharpy funny names on the bare BT (body tube).. hehe

Anyway, I'm trying to get better.. this is my valid attempt at putting a
"nice" paint job on my 6ft Talon3:

I'm trying this new "Frog Tape" that supposedly won't leak when masking
layers. WE'll see how that goes.. But while researching painting techniques,
I just found this:

possibly the best article I've ever read on doing quality rocket paint jobs.
They even have a "leak-proofing" technique of first spraying on an underlayer
(on your masked areas) before applying the top color. Tons of other great tips
too like warming your pain in a warm water bath (esp in cold weather like
this). Great stuff!

What's your favorite rocket (or automotive) painting tip?
