[NRVR-Members] 2019 Membership & Elections Meeting, Jan 31st, 6:00pm at the CRC

I think I found "A" problem..

Basics of hosting mail.. your A record (record that connects the NAME of the server to the IP of the server) should match the reverse (IP to A record) of the server. I semi-recently temporarily changed the base hostname of the system from xcssa.org to xcssa.pw ( a cyber squatter got me).. That was probably it.. I just fixed that (forward should match the reverse within 24hrs). DNS/email 101 stuff.

Pfftt.. n00b mistake.. hehe

Give your DNS caching 24hrs to time out.. and let me know if email is still being spam filtered tomorrow night or not.

Thanks for bringing it up folks!

(I'm still interested in looking at the headers of those spam flagged messages though.. That would tell me the spam-score and what put it over the "spammy-ness threshold" ;)

Yeah.. I'm not sure what's going on here.. since my domain passes muster with all the Spam RBL checklists:
https://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx?action=blacklist%3anrvr.org&run=toolpage

(I'll have to go back and check my DNS SPF record settings)

Any other mail geeks know something I don't?

Bob G.. Adrien? Caitlyn? Can any of you please send me the raw (with full headers) messages that we're spam filtered? The header usually records the various spam metrics the offending messages picked up as they flow through your various email MTA systems.

Thanks!

T.Weeks

Just adding a bit to that, I have the same issues every now and again with the spam filters on Outlook as well

Not to derail things too much, but I, too, have to watch GMail's "spam" folder for NRVR-related traffic.

If gmail is training their spam filter with the things we mark "not spam", it's not doing a great job.

Sharon and I intend on being at the meeting but I didn't know about it until I (once again) went through my spam folder. Most of the emails from nrvr.org<http://nrvr.org> wind up in my spam box. I mark them as not spam and then read them. I am going to see if I can white list enough of this so it no longer gets into spam.
